The pellet characteristics are precisely tailored to the needs of bottom-dwelling fish. Carp, grass carp, and black carp, among other bottom-dwelling fish, primarily feed at the bottom of the water column. Their core feed requirements are rapid sinking and stability in water without disintegration. The single-screw fish feed processing machine generates 4-6 MPa high pressure through high-speed screw rotation (300-350 r/min). The raw material melts within the extrusion chamber through frictional heat (120-160℃), and the pressure drops sharply upon extrusion from the die, resulting in compact pellets that sink quickly (3-5 seconds), withstand water for 8-12 hours, and achieve a fish feed consumption rate of over 95%. Compared to the sinking feed produced by the twin-screw pet food extruder, the pellets produced by the single-screw extruder have higher compactness, better water resistance, and feed waste rate controlled below 5%. For example, a small fish farm using a single-screw extruder to produce grass carp feed showed that the pellets did not disintegrate even after soaking in water for 10 hours, ensuring ample feeding by the grass carp, reducing the feed conversion ratio to below 1.5, and significantly improving aquaculture efficiency.

Simplified Production Process: No Additional Drying Step Required. When producing sinking aquatic feed, the single-screw floating fish feed extruder machine only needs to control the raw material moisture content at 10%-14%. Through frictional heat expansion, the finished pellet moisture content drops directly to 10%-12%, eliminating the need for additional drying equipment. The feed can be directly discharged for storage or use. In contrast, twin-screw extruders typically require additional water to enhance expansion, resulting in a finished product moisture content of 18%-22%. This necessitates drying equipment, increasing equipment investment and extending the production cycle. For example, producing 1 ton of sinking grass carp feed takes only 10-15 minutes from raw material input to finished product output with a single-screw extruder; however, a twin-screw extruder, including the drying process, takes 30-40 minutes, significantly reducing production efficiency and increasing energy costs.

Flexible Production Capacity to Meet the Needs of Small and Medium-Sized Aquaculture. Small and medium-sized fish farms (20-50 mu of fishponds) require 200-500 kg of feed per day. The production capacity of a single screw floating fish feed machine (50-500 kg/h) can precisely match this demand, enabling "freshly made feed" and avoiding oxidation and spoilage caused by long-term storage of finished feed. For example, a small fish farm uses a single screw extruder with a production capacity of 200 kg/h to produce 300 kg of feed per day according to the feeding needs of grass carp. The raw materials are locally available corn, soybean meal, and fishmeal, with a cost of only 2.5 yuan/jin, saving 30%-40% compared to purchasing finished feed, while ensuring the freshness of the feed.
